CBF Ent's Whistlin' Dixie - Jr. Grand Champion (AGS)

This is our little doe Dixie who we took to the show so my 4 year old could show and to get some "show experience" . Little did we know our little Dixie Darling would come home with a 2nd in the morning show (to our new buck's sister Flying Goat Annabelle)
and 1st plus a Jr. Grand Champion! In this case, Good things came in a small package - we NEVER expected to even be in the top of the class with the second youngest doe there - the youngest doe - Dixie's half sister CBF Ent's Twinkle Lil'Star didn't do as well but we still adore her - her mom is terrific and a great milker so she's still a keeper in our minds!
Dixie is out of CBF Entei and El Cerro Wind in the Willows. Thank you Valerie for picking our little Dixie for Jr. Grand! We just thought she might be something special when she was born.

CBF Entei is SOLD

Our wonderful herdsire is sold. I was sad to see him go but he went home to help a new family
start their herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats. He is going to be happy when he gets to his new home - with his new harem of 4 does. Lucky boy!!! It is a bittersweet day for us as I just found out my first choice doe from Rancho Esperanza isn't bred. That was a bit of a blow. I really had hoped for a Kachina Doll/Jack Sparrow son to be our 2nd new herdsire. We still are hoping that Pearl or Ice Sculpture might throw us something as well.

TRIPLETS!

Joie provided us with our first set of Nigerian triplets. 1 Doeling and 2 bucklings (wethers). The doeling is Princess Malina (according to Suzy her owner - we are trying hard to sway her to name her Twinkle little star) the boys are being called Racer and Crash (not because of carcrash in our thoughts, it isn't, but he sort of crash landed upon arrival. WE didn't think she had any more and voila - there was number three! Racer has a racing strip down his back hence Racer.

The doe came breech but is fine and very strong!!! She was up nursing in no time and the boys took a while. But, there they are! Way to go Joie and Entei!

Update of Nizhoni's Joie de Vivre

This is Joie (after being milked). She went into heat just after Willow was pulled out of the buck pen so she went in. If the breeding was positive then we will have two sets of babies due mid February. We plan on keeping a doeling out of Joie and all bucks will be castrated for wethers. Limited Reservations would be taken. WE MAY Ultrasound both girls. Joie was a FF this year and an absolute delight to milk. I look forward to hopefully having a daughter of hers that milks the way she does. Entei's lines will hopefully improve foreudder attachment and flatten out her somewhat steep rump. This doe is sweet and has a lovely face and body otherwise. I cannot wait to see these babies.

My CBF Entei

See the little grey goat in the middle just to the right of the judge in red? He will be our new HERDSIRE. And, he will be the first one carrying our farm name. After the favorable comments by the two judges, I'm excited! Despite being the youngest, and littlest goat in the whole show, he recieved very positive comments from this Judge. He said he "expects this tiny little buck kid, when he matures, to go strait to the front of the line". He placed him 5th because most of the other bucks in his class were nearly twice his size (the class was Jr. Bucks 6 m0 and under). He commented on his long level topline and wide escutcheon. WE were pretty sure we wouldn't win the class with a 4 week old buck but it was fun showing our first two Nigie babies of the year. Entei's sister Chickorita also recieved some similar comments so we are please that this breeding produced such nice kids for us.
